that's so cool AR, i wish guys like that would stop by my place. i'd invite him in to jam with me and introduce him to the GD. a visit to nepal is on my bucket list. do you mind me asking how many languages you speak? do you mostly speak nepali there? do most people there speak more than one nepali language? sorry for being nosey, you don't have to respond to any of those obviously.

I'm comfortable in Nepali, and generally speak that (with many undoubtedly comical mistakes) unless the other person is fluent in English ... but of course I speak English with hubby and kid!
There are many languages here, and lots of people speak multiple languages. I wouldn't say "most" (except that most would also speak Hindi, I guess.) But many do, particularly in rural areas. I really want to learn the local language of an area I go to a lot, so that's on my wish list. I'll probably be too lazy, though.

very cool. thanks for sharing that. it's amazing how many people outside of the states speak a whole variety of languages. i can barely manage with two. i suppose most of them learn out of necessity. until recently, it hasn't been necessary to know anything other than english over here.
